Waluigi, a character created by Nintendo, is the lanky and mischievous counterpart to Luigi in the Mario Bros. franchise. He is portrayed as Wario's partner and often competes with Luigi in various sporting and party games.
His first appearance was in the Nintendo 64 game, *Mario Tennis* (2000). He was created to be Wario's doubles partner, as Luigi already had Mario.
Waluigi is known for his cheating, bad sportsmanship, and general unpleasantness, although he is not necessarily a villain in the same vein as Bowser or Wario. He is usually depicted as more of an annoyance or comic relief character.
